Sorry for my absence!  I know everyone is wondering how Lindsey is doing.  She's doing well!

I'm embarrassed that my last entries have been about my eyes.  No more eye entries because, I know, they are BORING.  I am going to the eye doctor over Spring Break because my situation has gotten worse - I now have to put my font on the computer screen at 150% because of my one eye that isn't working.  Okay, I will shut up now!

Next week my students start up their moot court arguments.  I have to be a student judge.  What a waste of a seat on the bench!  I will probably say nothing.  Typical Lindsey.  Good thing there will be two other judges there.  I do have to judge their practice arguments too, so I need to step up and get involved, so they are prepared.  Wish me luck.

Jay's birthday is coming up - the big 3-0.  It's in a month.  I am trying to think of gift ideas.  I was thinking bed sheets or a poster.  I was planning on taking him to a nice dinner but now I was thinking of taking a night trip somewhere.  Like Providence?  Take a half hour train there and spend the night in a nice hotel and get dinner?  Is that enough for a gift?  Is Providence a bad idea?  He's going to be doing an externship there this summer so I thought it might be nice for him to get a preview.  I was also thinking Newport but that's farther.  I don't know if a trip is worth it. Plus I'm going down to Virginia the following weekend for the big LAW SCHOOL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT so do I have time for another trip?  Yes, it's his birthday but wait no, he screwed up my birthday and Valentine's Day, but yes, 30 is a big milestone.  Someone suggested going to NH instead but I find that a boring state, right?   Let's see...would you rather go to a really nice dinner in Boston (which you never do) or do a night in Providence with a not as nice dinner which would also be a risky trip because you don't even know the city and have no car to navigate through it?

Thanks for the concern, friends.  My eye doc thinks she gave me too strong of a prescription in the problematic eye so she's sending me some new contacts.  Problem #1 - I had to cut up all of my contact boxes to get a rebate, so I will therefore not be able to return the ones that are too strong for me.  Problem #2 - I haven't been wearing my contacts in a long time, so why am I still having seeing problems?  The answers to these will come once I go see her.

I hesitated writing today because I have nothing exciting to say, but I did want to clear my eye problem up with you all.  Back to evidence.  My instructor has given us a mnemonic to use to so we can memorize a bunch of rules - the mnemonic is this - ADDEM P. BOPP, SEE ICI.  Isn't that a good one?

Question - I am only nearsighted, right?  (That is not the question.)  I have noticed within this month (so I'm guessing this has only been going on for a month) that I cannot read with one of my eyes.  When I close my right eye, my left eye is completely blurry.  Can you become farsighted that fast?  And just in one eye?  It's making me uncomfortable.  I called my eye doctor last night, leaving a message of my problem and hopefully she'll tell me it's normal.  But I don't want reading glasses too.  Ugh.  I'll let you know what she says.  She actually works at Target Optical and I had to go to her because my school medical insurance gives me a discount at her place.  I thought it was kind of ghetto to go to Target for an eye doctor but she was awesome, and I was able to recruit two more patients for her - my mom and dad.  Go Dr. McMunn!

Yes, it has been a while since I submitted an entry but I noticed that S and S are really writing a lot these days.  Well I guess Sachin always does but Sujata now too?  Wow.  It's finals time now (I won't get into how screwed I am because who wants to hear that - everyone always says that every year about their finals) so I will have time to procrastinate and write.

Tomorrow is the first day of school - how exciting!  Lots of stuff going on this week - classes, interviews, my first law review assignment, meetings.  It's going to be one great week.

Last night, I saw Garden State with Seth.  Right after it ended, we both said how much we liked the soundtrack so we walked to Virgin and bought it.  I was happy to see the Shins get such props in the movie.  Anyway, the movie was very good - go scrubs guy.

So Jen joined my gym yesterday and informed me that I get five dollars off my membership each month now.  How nice is that?

Yes, so it's been nice being back in Boston.  Though pretty hot.  We've had a pretty mild summer on the east coast, except of course, the past few days, which are my only days of the summer with no a/c.  Oh well.  Boston is looking good.

So the end of the summer has come.  The interning is over.  Well, I have to go in one more morning to finish something up but I had my intern pool party yesterday which means I won't see any of the interns anymore.  It's pretty sad.  We all had such a nice summer with each other and now all of a sudden, it's just over.  The party was fun though.  No one went swimming because the weather was bad, except for Ben who had to jump in the pool after a baseball he and Caleb were throwing around ended up in there.  We ate, we hung out, we played a little Scattergories, and one by one, everyone left.  Ben actually stuck around and we went and saw Collateral - it was pretty good.  Then we came back here and finished up the Death by Chocolate that Melissa had brought, and watched the opening ceremonies.  Last time there was an opening ceremonies for the Olympics, it was the night before my LSATs and I was staying in a hotel in Binghamton with my mother.  What a stressful night that was.  It's interesting how the next opening ceremonies was the day my 1L summer ended, and it really feels like the day my whole 1L year ended, because now all that's left is a week of vacation, and then 2L starts.  I wonder what I will be doing the next opening ceremonies.  That will be like February of 2006.
